How Does It Operate?
In the French system, Maternelle (pre-school) is a compulsory 3-year school program included in primary education: Petite Section (first year), Moyenne Section (second year) and Grande Section (third year). Certified and engaged teachers, as well as teaching assistants, work hand in hand to accompany children. A German teacher regularly provides language classes to small groups, and an FLE (French as a Foreign Language) teacher is also available to help non-French-speaking children.
Children learn and grow together for three years. Play-based instruction is used to discover the world, promote language acquisition, learn mathematics, develop motor coordination, and instill self-discipline and self-confidence. Our teachers are trained to teach in a structured, fun, and exciting way, drawing on picture books, traditional French and German celebrations, the four seasons, and school excursions.
